30 inch x 40 inch acrylic
This painting was inspired by my garden. I had never painted an image like this before. This was a definite step away from rocks and water and trees for me.
I love the "bug's eye view" perspective of this painting. The crispness of the image in the foreground contrasts the blurring of the background.
This painting was all about light quality for me. The opaqueness through the leaves and the strong shadow gives a sense of warmth to the image while the brilliant reds give an overpowering sense of passion to the painting.
I am so happy that I painted this work because I am not a very good gardener and these poppies never grew again.
This painting is currently for sale for $1100.00
