Education

 

Self-taught artist educated in the school of observation and experiment. Influenced by the sublime beauty of The Haliburton Highlands and Algonquin Park, the creative process came naturally and passionately.

Related Work History

 

·         1988 – 1999 – Illustrator and editor (1990 – 1999) of cottage association news letter. Distribution to 550 members of a privately owned cottage corporation.

·         1997 – to present - Volunteer art instructor at J. G. Workman Public School (Birchmount Road, Scarborough, Ontario) Activities include working with students from grade 1 to 8 facilitating knowledge and practical, hands on skills in the area of age appropriate visual art. Students worked together to create large installations based on environmental/first nations themes (2010) and more recently enviro art for the school yard and building involving all grades (2012).

·         Curate annual “Gotta Have Art” show 2006- to present, that includes one to two works from each student (grades J.K. to 8) for display from May to the end of the school year.

·         May 2013 – Doors Open Toronto – Fool’s Paradise – Artist in Residence for event to give watercolour instruction to visitors. Received 80 – 90 people/day for instruction.
