16" x 20" acrylic
This is from a day trip to Algonquin Park in the fall of 2010. The highway is littered with wetlands the entire way and it ended up taking us a very long time to reach our destination because I just had to stop and experience the beauty of these places! I have always loved the colours and textures of a marshland and the autumn seems to make these elements even more sublime. I can smell the earthiness of the land and hear the geese migrating to warmer climates as I gaze upon this piece. The crispness in the air seems to permeate through the feeling of the painting.
