18" x 24" acrylic & mixed media
Featured in the``Artists of Algonquin`` coffee table book
This painting was inspired by the colours and textures of fall. I wanted to try a different direction in this piece by using modeling paste and other materials to create texture. The outline of the leaves give this work a more graphic quality than my other work. It was exciting to try something a little different and I really like the outcome. The use of gloss medium on the tree trunks creates a main focus to the work. When I see this piece I remember family walks in the woods and I feel the crispness of the air ripe with the earthy scent of fallen leaves.
This painting is currnetly for sale for $500.00
