This painting was inspired by a day trip with my husband to Algonquin Park.
A large spruce tree in a bog is silhouetted against the sky quietly revealing an incoming storm.
It was a beautiful moment of light and colour. The soft calm I felt is juxtaposed by the intense thunderstorm we drove through that evening on our way back to the cottage.
