This painting was inspired by an amazing photo I saw in a coffee table book and reminds me of the countless walks taken with my family in the autumn at my cottage. A sprawling maple grows strong in front of a steep hill of birch and maple trees. In this image, I see hope. It is in the core of our existence. So strong, it reaches to places we cannot see.
